MERCURIAL DREAMS

In 'Mercurial Dreams,' you're a cat plush toy whose mind mysteriously entwines with that of your young owner, a kid, shielding him from bad dreams.

The game is set in 'Mercurial Village', a weird place with a river made of mercury and strange buildings.

• Minigames: Inside buildings, you find different games to play.
• NPCs: The villagers give you hints and tasks. They're a bit odd but helpful.

Your job is to keep the kid safe from scary dreams by playing minigames and completing tasks inside strange buildings. 'Mercurial Dreams' is all about adventure, mystery, and being a hero in a dream world.

• Resolution: The resolution is fixed at 800x500 pixels. It is recommended to play in fullscreen mode.
  
• Controls: Keyboard and mouse only.
  
• Duration: The game lasts about 30-45 minutes.
• Development: The entire game development took 3 months for the LSD Jam 2023
• AI generated images: This game uses AI generated images. ⚠️
• Copyrighted assets: This game uses a low-poly representation of the 'Polyhedron' asset from the well-known game Pathologic 2 in its final scenes. ⚠️

Oddities

• Mercurial River: A mysterious river that flows through 'Mercurial Village,' giving the place its name.
• Main Character: I really like the short "Cat City" by Vewn, so it inspired the main character. I guess I just love cats because you can see them as the main character in my other game, "Meow Collapse", too (though I don't really recommend playing it since I made it with less experience). It's kind of my quirky problem to make cats the heroes.
• Musical Tastes: Magdalena Bay has also been a big inspiration, especially their album "Mercurial World" and the song "Dreamcatching".

• OG 'Mercurial Village': This game is a tribute to my childhood self. Inspired by a painting I created in my youth;
